Mrs. M. Fitzgerald Funeral Services Held In Des Moines

Mrs. Mary Irene Fitzgerald, long time resident of the Colo community died in the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines on September 1-.

She was born in Chicago on July 20, 1879 where she resided until 1909 when she was united in marriage to the late Tom E. Fitzgerald of Colo. She and her husband began their life together on a farm near Colo and lived in that community until his death in 1938.

Since 1940 she had made her home in Des Moines with her daughter, Mary. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colo and served as president of the Ladies Aid Society of Which she was a member during the 31 years she lived in the parish.

At the time of her death she was a member of the St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines and a member of St. Theresa's Altar and Rosary Society.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colo. Mrs. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Walter and Roy.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas J. of Boone, Robert - of Warren, Ohio, Francis M. J., Des Moines and a daughter, Mary -. Fitzgerald of Des Moines.

Also six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a cousin of Mrs. P. D. Fitzgerald of Colo.

Funeral mass was recited at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines and burial was in St. James Cemetery at Colo.
