Mrs. Elmer Myers Funeral Services Are Held Monday
Hilma Fern Myers was born Aug. 16, 1904 in Story County, the daughter of Herman and Missouri Beal.
Hilma Grew up in Story County and attended the country schools in Sherman Township.
She was married to Elmer Myers, Dec. 19, 1922, at Boone, Iowa.
They were the parents of two daughters: Mrs. Harold (Annabelle) Hayes of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Darrell (DonnaJean) McNerney of Creston, Iowa.
Elmer and Hilma Myers made their home in Story County, most of the time in Nevada. Mrs. Myers was taken suddenly ill and was taken to the Story County Hospital where she died, within a few hours, of a cerebral hemorrhage, on Thursday, March 22, 1962 at 8:15 p. m.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer, her two daughters, Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. McNerney, a brother, Frank Beal of California, and four sisters, Mrs. Dollie Hughes of Apache Junction, Ariz., Mrs. Maude Hostetler of Nevada, Mrs. Alice Webb of Alta Vista and Mrs. Mabel Huff of Clarion. Also surviving are six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Edith Buffington; two brothers, Willie, who died in infancy, and James.
Funeral Services
Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer (Hilma) Myers were held Monday, March 26, 1962, at the Ryan Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m., with the Rev. Robert Link officiating.
Miss Beeula Settle was organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Florence Rapp, as she sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Under His Wings." Casket bearers were Jimmie Beal, Herman Buffington, Darrell Myers, Earnie Myers, Jack Myers and Wilbur Myers.
Burial was in Colo cemetery.
