Mrs. Brint Hanson Funeral Services Held Recently
Funeral services for Mrs. Brint Hanson were held Saturday, Jan. 13 at 2 p. m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. Harold T. Masted officiating.
Miss Louise Olson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Harold T. Masted, vocalist. Pallbearers were Kenneth Christianson, Ed Anderson, Lyle Lorenzen, Alfred Stout, Neil Jacobson and Jack Collins.
Interment was made in the South St. Petri Cemetery.
Life Sketch
Bertha Gurine Howland, daughter of Lars and Kari Howland was born on a farm southwest of Story City on Aug. 9, 1878. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
On March 18, 1909, she was united in marriage to Brint Hanson. They farmed in the Gilbert area until 1946 when they moved to Story City.
Mrs. Hanson had been in failing health the past eighteen months and died at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p. m.
She was preceded in death by her parent, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Brint and a son, Clifford of Story City; two daughters, Mrs. Alma Hartline of Altoona and Mrs. Lucille Collins of Des Moines; and by two brothers and one sister, Theodore Howland of Garwin, Dr. Gerhard Howland of Decorah and Mrs. Louise Christianson of Jewell; also six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
