Otis J. Waula Funeral Services Held In Mc'Burg
Funeral services for Otis T. Waula were held on Thursday, Jan. 4, 1962 at the McCallsburg Bethany Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Perry Heller in charge Rev. Peterson from the Sunset Home in Story City gave a short talk.
"Abide With Me" was sung by the congregation. Mrs. Cecil Hnderson, soloist sang two songs, "What a Friend We have in Jesus" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Carroll Lura was at the organ.
Pall bearers were Jonas Tesdall, Ross Morris, Corneil Erickson, Sherrill Hegland and Clarence Pearson. Interment was in the East Bergen Cemetery.
Life Sketch
Otis Theodore Waula was born Feb. 2, 1897, near McCallsburg, Iowa. He suffered a stroke Friday morning at the Sunset Home at Story City where he had resided since March 1961. He was taken to Story City Memorial Hospital where he died Sunday evening, Dec. 31, 1961 at the age of 64 years and 11 months.
He is survived by a sister Mrs. John (Clara) Hauptly of McCallsburg, four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Anna, Mrs. O. L. (Caroline) Ose and one in infancy.
