Services for Wm. McBride Held at Collins Thursday
Funeral services for William M. McBride were held Thursday afternoon at the Collins Methodist church Rev. Floyd Newbrough of Colo officiated. Music was given by Mrs. Richard Holland and Mrs. Stanley Mitchell, accompanied by Mrs. Thayer Durby.
Mrs. Everett McCord and Mrs. Floyd Oswalt arranged the flowers. Casket bearers were Gaylord Clark, Lawrence Dodd, Everett McCord, Ivan Mullihan, Floyd Oswalt and Russell Oswalt. The Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Eldora cemetery with masonic services at the graveside.
Obituary
William Montgomery McBride was born April 22, 1894 at Hubbard, the son of Robert and Anna Montgomery McBride. He died at his home south of Colo on July 4, 1960 at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 12 days.
On August 18, 1921 he was united in marriage to Kathryn I. Wyatt at Colo. To this union three children were born, Howard of Elmhurst, Ill.; Mrs. Betty Juchems of Conrad, and Robert at home.
Early in his life he was affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal church of Hubbard, then with the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church of Hubbard. Since moving to Collins his membership has been transferred to the Methodist church in Collins. He was a member of the Fervent Lodge No. 513 A.F. and A.M. and No. 134 Order of the Eastern Star.
He spent most of his life in Hardin County, moving to the Collins community 12 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 sisters and one brother.
Surviving are his wife, three children, five grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
