Last Rites Held For Primo Rossi Nevada, Des Moines

Funeral services for Primo Rossi, 1837 First street, were held from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Nevada Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 10 a. m. with the Rev. J. J. Brickley officiating. The altar boys were Gary Stfani, Richard Prati and John Fout.

The choir of St. Patrick's church with Mrs. Lawrence Doser at the organ, sang the Funeral Mass. Choir members were Mrs. Lester Meimann, Mrs. Reis Prati and Mrs. George Konec.

Raymond O'Donnell was usher.

The casket bearers were Ermido Cerretti, Nevada; Amedeo Rossi, Des Moines; Louis Fontanini, Ankeny; Angelo Stefani, Nevada; Reis Prati, Nevada; Ildo Rossi, Minneapolis, Minn.

A large number from the Vitoria Lodge in Des Moines attended the service in a body in honor of their deceased brother.

Burial was in the Glendale Catholic cemetery in Des Moines.

Obituary

Primo Rossi, son of John and Adele Rossi, was born April 12, 1889 in Morsiana, Italy, and died in the Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames, Feb. 13, 1960 at 1:10 p. m. at the age of 70 years.

He was united in marriage to Filomena Tollari in Des Moines, September, 1915. To this union the daughter Adele was born. Mr. Rossi was a retired coal miner. Prior to coming to Nevada in 1947 he lived in Des Moines, Carney, Waukee, and Madrid. He was a member of St. Patrick's church and of Vittoria lodge in Des Moines..

Preceding him in death in 1959 was his wife Filomena. Surviving are the daughter, Adel, Mrs. Ray Stefani, a brother, Lawrence in Des Moines and a sister, Mrs. Irene Bondi, Morsiano, Italy, six grandchildren and one step-son, Ella Tollari, Detroit, Mich. and nieces and nephews.

Those in attendance at the last rites in Nevada were from Des Moines, Waukee, Carney, Ankeny, Grimes, Madrid, Granger, Nevada, Ames and Minneapolis.
