Rhea R. Runneals Funeral Services

Rhea Roscoe Runneals was born March 6, 1877, the son of Martin L. and Lydia Runneals. He died Nov. 16, 1961, after nearly a year's illness, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 10 days.

Rhea was born on a farm located three miles north of Colo, and as a boy he attended a rural school near Colo, Iowa. He later assisted with farm operations until being employed with the M. & St. L. Railroad at Marshalltown in the capacity of fireman and engineer.

He was married to Lillian Gertrude Mitchell, April 18, 1906 at Zearing, Iowa and lived in Marshalltown until 1914, at which time he left the railroad and moved to Nevada, becoming engaged in the business of selling insurance, from which he retired in 1960, after a period of 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Archie and an infant twin of Rhea also one sister, Bertha, two children, Paul and Gretchen.

Rhea is survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons, Francis and Millard, both of Nevada and Max of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Rhea R. Runneals were held at the Ryan Funeral Home, Saturday, Nov. 18, 1961, at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. W. R. Tuttle officiating.

Leslie Henderson, organist, furnished the music for the services.

Casket bearers were Ray McDaniel, Paul Moon, Ray Taylor, Harold Tipton, Claude Waring and Russell Woodsworth.

Burial was in the Colo cemetery.
