Patrick Peakin Dies At SUI Hospital in Iowa City Yesterday

Patrick J. Peakin, 86, of State Center died late Monday at the University Hospitals in Iowa Ciety where he had been a patient for the past month. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Born April 5, 1873 in Worthington, Ireland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Peakin, he came to the United States at an early age and made his home with a relative of a farm near Colo. He was educated near there at a rural school.

On February 8, 1910 he was married to Amelia Biensen at State Center. They made their home on a farm six miles southwest of State Center until 1944 when they moved to town.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia, and one son, Salvester of Colo. His parents, one son and one brother preceded him in death.

A Rosary service will be held at the Wensel Funeral Home in State Center Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 8 p. m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, at 9:30 a. m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father F. D. Heimerman will officiate. Burial will be in St. James cemetery in Colo.

Friends may call at the Wensel Funeral Home in State Center.
