The funeral of Mrs. Bertha Evenson Olson occurred at Salem's church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Sandven. Bertha Evenson was the oldest daughter of our esteemed citizen John Evenson and was born and raised in this township. After graduating from the Roland schools she attended college at Jewell, after which she taught school until about two years ago when she was married to Ross Olson of Hamilton county. For six months or more her health had gradually failed. Aside from her husband and child she leaves a father, stepmother and a number of brothers and sisters to mourn her loss. Bertha was one of the pure in heart, ever cheerful in spirit, and while living here was an earnest worker in both church and Sunday school. The funeral was largely attended by sympathizing friends.
