BAKKA FUNERAL TUESDAY
Passing of Well Known Man Deeply Regretted.

Roland, June 19.--The funeral services for the late Lars Bakka who passed away at the hospital at Iowa City Saturday morning were held at Bergen's church Tuesday afternoon. He was laid to rest in the Roland cemetery.Lars L. Bakka was born in Sevde, Norway, April 19, 1964. When but a young child his parents left their native country and came to Illinois where they lived a few years. Then they moved to Iowa settling on the old Bakka homestead west of town. At the age of twenty four he went to Graettinger and engaged in business and farming for a number of years. Over twenty years ago he moved back and lived on the Bakka farm west of town. In 1916 he moved to town and bought the hardware store here, and which he sold three years ago. About a year ago he built a filling station and this he was managing up to the time of his illness. He was married to Malinda Sandvig and five children were born to them, two of them Laura and Gordon. He also leaves one dying in infancy. Those left to mourn his death with his wife are Henry, grandson; five brothers, C. B. Larson of Wallingford, M. B. Larson of Boulder, Colo., L. B., K. B. and N. O. Larson of Dirky, N. D., and one sister Lena Bakka of Roland. The family have the sympathy of the community.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Rierson, Mr. and Mrs O. K. Helvig and daughter, Mrs. E. N. Eggland and Anna Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Nelson of Story City, A. L. Anderson of Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Art Johnson of Nevada.
