John H. Musland was born Sept. 7, 1857 in Oskedalen, Norway, and died April 15, 1924, at his home in Story City, Iowa. He came to this country when only seven years old, first living in Clinton county and then in Story county. He was united in marriage to Ingeborg Musland Dec. 28, 1880. Mrs. Musland died August 1, 1922. Mr. Musland was always in good health and was sick only a week before his death. The funeral was held April 18 in the Immanuel church. He leaves seven children, namely Mrs. Carrie Peterson of Gilbert, Mrs. Sarah Gudahl of Lake Heron, Minn., Mrs. Hannah Johnson of Gilbert, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Isabel Kennedy of Santa Barbara, Cal., Mrs. Lenna Hutchinson of Lynnwood, Calif. and Oliver Musland of Alhamgra, Calif.
