Sawyer Rites To Be Friday

Funeral services for Gordan A. Sawyer, Kelley, who died Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from arteriosclerosis at his home after a two weeks illness will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Adams Chapel.

The Rev. W. Murray Allan of First Congregational Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen section of [Ames] Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Sawyer ws 76, born Sept. 19, 1879, at Fowler, Inc. He was a resident of the Kelley community for 50 yeas, most of which he spent farming. He was a member of Kelley School Board for many years and was president at the time the school district was consolidated.

Mr. Sawyer was a member of Kelley Congregational Church and the Odd Fellows.

He was married to Olive Phillips Oct. 14, 1903 at Sheldahl. She survives long with son Joy B., Chicago; and nephew Hugh Phillips, Chicago, who the Sawyers raised.
