HARVEY W. BEAL. – Harvey W. Beal, 69, of 1214 9th St., Nevada IA, died Tuesday, Oct 27, 1987, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 9, 1918, at Maxwell, IA, to Ray and Eva Bloomfield Beal and was a lifelong resident of Story County. Survivors include his mother, Eva Beal of Nevada; a sister, Pauline Crain, Nevada; a daughter, Betty Tjelmeland, Roland IA; a niece, Bonny Harrington, Ames IA; a nephew, Douglas Tjelmeland, Ames, and a brother, Ray Beal Jr., Maxwell, IA. He was preceded in death by father and his wife, Mary Helen, who died in 1945, and a brother, Fay Raymond Beal. Mr. Beal was a former John Deere and Ford employee and also a retired farmer. He was a member of the Maxwell Christian Church. Funeral services will be held from Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, Friday, Oct. 30, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Roy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery near Maxwell. Friends were invited to call at the mortuary Thursday evening, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.”
