Funeral Services at Slater for Theodor Buche
Slater, Nov. 27--Funeral services for Theodore M. Buche, 32, of Des Moines were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Will G. Buche, southeast of Slate and at 2:30 o'clock at the Salem's Evangelical Reformed church in Alleman. Rev. A. I. Kreutzmann pastor of the church, had charge of the services, assisted by Rev. Wilson Hyde of the Getchell Memorial church of Des Moines and Rev. Robert Buche of New York City. The many beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. Ben Alleman and Mrs. George Gfeller of Alleman and Mrs. Ralph Clark of Slater.
Will Atherton and Ivan Curry of Des Moines sang a duet, "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go."
The pallbearers were Harlan Wood of Des Moines; Lawrence Fausch and Ralph Alleman of Alleman; Lewis Buche and Arnold Engelman of Slater, and Alvin Eide of Polk City. Burial was made in the Lincoln cemetery near Alleman.
Theodore Buche was born April 19, 1908, near Slater and die Nov. 22, 1940, at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. His parents were William and Frederika Buche. When Theodore was 2 years old his mother died. He was confirmed March 30th, 1923, when he was 15 years old, in the Salem Reformed church. His marriage took place July 5th, 1940, to Miss Mary Katherine Hildreth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hildreth of Des Moines.
He was employed at the Iowa Packing company, where the elevator accident occurred which caused his untimely death. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Miss Alma Buche of Chicago; and four brothers, Rev. Robert Buche of New York City; Frank, Will and Henry L. Buche of Slater, a present at the services, and a large number of relatives.
Among those from a distance who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buche of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fredrickson of Hubbard; Mr. and Mrs. Will Buche of Ames; from Rockwell City were M. and Mrs. Carroll Hildreth, Mrs. Otis Hildreth, Forrest Hildreth and Miss Deloris Inman; from Des Moines: Mr. and Mrs. George Hildreth and family, Misses Mildred Buche, Gertrude Miller, Dorothy Bogle and Norma Cobb; Mrs. Clark Geppert, Mrs. M. E. Barr, Mrs. Rebertas, Mrs. Clara Holt, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandt, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Marasco, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Curry, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Gatchel and Paul Morgan, Will Atherton and Harlan Wood. A large number of Slater people also attended the services. The Buche family lived in Slater for several years until the death of the father.
