Former Nevada Man Killed In Railway Accident

Homer Williams, age about 30, son of Charles Williams of Nevada, was killed in a railway accident at Matoon, Illinois, early today, according to an inquiry reaching the sheriff's office here.

Further particulars of the fatal accident are not known.

The message received by the sheriff simply stated that Homer Williams of Nevada, Iowa, had been killed on the railroad there and inquired as to his relatives.

The father was located and advised of the fatal accident and was confident that it was his son, who was known to have been in Illinois.

The man was born in Nevada, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams and leaves his father and one brother Lawrence Williams, the latter married and living in Nevada.

For the past few years the unfortunate man, who was single, had been little in Nevada, but had wandered about this part of the country working as a laborer.

The last definite word that the father had had of the son was several months ago when he was in Florida with the Barnum & Bailey circus.

Definite arrangements as to the time and place of burial are yet undetermined, but it is probable that the body will be shipped back to Nevada for burial.*

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The death record of Homer Williams states he was buried in Nevada, Iowa.
