Irene Higgs of Maxwell Died at 'Varsity Hospital

Maxwell, March 15-- Irene Higgs, 32, died Sunday forenoon at the University hospital at Iowa City, where she was taken a week ago Sunday. Death was due to complication of various troubles.

Miss Higgs had been in failing health for the past year and bedfast for five months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church in Maxwell and burial will be in the Maxwell cemetery.

Born on a farm south of Maxwell, November 14, 1904, she attended the Maxwell schools, graduating with the class of 1923. After attending business college in Des Moines for a while she became employed by the Armand Company in Des Moines, continuing with the firm in a responsible position for nine years.

She leaves beside her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Higgs of Maxwell, brother Verne of Maxwell and Wayne of Nevada.
