On page captioned: COLO REPRESENTATIVE
The body of Mrs. Julia Barnard arrived here accompanied by her son-in-law Austin Mullen. A number of old time friends and neighbors were assembled at the depot and accompanied them to the Colo cemetery where following a prayer by Rev. J. E. Habliston she was laid to rest beside her husband. Rev. and Mrs. Barnard resided here many years ago. After Rev. Barnard's death his widow moved from here nearly a fourth of a century ago and has since lived with her daughter. She ahs been an invalid for about seven years and to her the call home was relief from untold suffering. She had passed her 88th birthday. She leaves to mourn her loss three daughters and their families Mrs. Lydia Mullen of Hawarden, Mrs. Lillie Kiehlow of North Dakota, Mrs. Nellie Irvin [should be Irwin] of the eastern part of Iowa and besides many friends who extend sympathy to the sorrowing ones. Mr. Mullen will remain a few days and renew acquaintance with old friends whom he had not seen for years. The daughters were unable to accompany their mother to the grave but were present at the funeral services held at Hawarden.
