Big Jim Kipper Suicides.

The sad and startling news came to town early Sunday evening the James Kopper "Big Jim" as he was called was death as a result of taking a dose of strychnine. As near as we have been able to learn the facts, he and some other men had spent the afternoon at the home of Joe Backoff. About five o'clock Jim got hold of the strychnine which Mr. Backoff had for the purpose of destroying vermin about the place and took a fatal dose. A physician was called but life had gone before he arrived. Mr. Kopper came to this vicinity about two years ago and has worked for different farmers here. The body will be sent to Thomasboro, Ill., today for interment.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The death record of Geo. James Kupper states he was born 15 January 1885 in Illinois. His parents are listed as Jacob Kupper and ----Seder. He died 20 June 1915 in New Albany Township, Story County, Iowa.
