OBITUARY
MRS. L. W. KING
Mrs. L. W. King, mother of the county auditor, died at their home on Sunday last after an illness which followed an attack of paralysis several weeks ago. From this attack she appeared for some time to make progress toward recovery; but recently her condition had become more serious again, and her death was fully expected by those about her.
Salina Melissa Wood was born near Prescott, Canada, April 1, 1837 but removed as a child to Illinois, where she grew up and was married, November 8, 1860 to Lemuel W. King. They remove in 1867 to Nevada, where their home continued for the balance of their lives. Mr. King died January 17, 1911, at the age of 84 and Mrs. King has now passed away, June 13, 1915, aged 78 years, 2 months and 12 days. Mr. and Mrs. King had three sons, all of whom survive, W. L. King of Ames, Herbert T. King of Birmingham, Alabama, and Frank E. King, of Nevada. Mrs. King also left three brothers, J. M. Wood of Nevada, E. A. Wood of Nevada, E. A. Wood of Orange, California, and C. W. Wood of Cuates, New Mexico. Her six sisters have all gone before her. She was a member of the Methodist church for nearly fifty years, and was all her life woman devoted to her duty and much esteemed by those who knew her.
Her funeral is conducted this afternoon by Rev. E. C. McDade.
