DEATH OF LORETTA BOLLER
Fatal Case of Diptheria

Very great sympathy has been evoked throughout the city by the death on Wednesday evening of Loretta, nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. R. Boller. She had been ailing for about a week and a quarantine had bee established on Sunday; but the reports up to a few hours before she died were that she was doing well, and the news of her death occasioned a general shock. The burial followed the same night was a private one, and it has been only from a distance that the friends of the family have been enabled to manifest their sympathy and regret. The deceased was the fourth of the eight children in the Boller family, and she is referred to by all as having been a very attractive child. She was a member of the fourth grade in old high school building.

Two other cases of the same disease have appeared in the city, one of them also from the fourth grace and one from the fifth, the victims being children of Nathan Chapman and A. K. McBride. Both of these cases, however, are believed to becoming all right, and it is assumed that the children will be out again in due time. The appearance of the three cases at once an among children more or less associated has occasioned somewhat general concern, and the schools in the building affected have been closed yesterday and today. That building and the other school buildings as well have been fumigated, and so far as there is any reason now to believe, the trouble is not likely to spread beyond the three cases already developed.
