Services were to be held yesterday (Tuesday) for Glen Blickensderfer, 71, Colo, who died Friday evening at Ames. The service were at St. John Lutheran Church in State Center with the Rev. Marvin Flancha in charge. Burial followed in Colo cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Haas, William Shickell, George Larson, Daryl Moore, Caryl Kuhlman, and Lowell Kasisehke. Wensel-Perrin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blickensderfer was born August 6, 1910, in Story County, the son of Fred and Elizabeth Lewis Blickensderfer. He spent his early life near Colo and attended Colo schools.
He was married to Sylvia Thake November 30, 1933. She preceded him in death, as did a brother.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet Larson, South San Francisco, CA. and five sisters, Jessie (Mrs. Con) Swanson and Ethel (Mrs. William) Shickell, both of Nevada; Myra Haas and Viola Greiner, both of Ames, and Bertha Monaghan, West Bend, WI.
Mr. Blickensderfer farmed in Story County for many years and was employed by the State Highway Commission for 10 years before retirement.
