Max Lounsberry - Zearing

Max A. Lounsberry, 73, of Zearing died of emphysema Friday at Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, Ariz. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zearing Christian Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Colo Cemetery.

Mr. Lounsberry, born in Colo, was the owner and operator of Lounsberry Grocery Store in Zearing for 35 years. He was an Air Corps veteran and a member of Zearing American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Winnifred; two sons, John of Oelwein and Tom of Granbury, Texas; four brothers, Vernie of Dallas Center, John of Cedar Falls, Ray of Nevada and Richard of Roland; two sisters, Anabelle Sykes of Chicago and Mary Ann Rymer of Eugene, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
