Mary Isabel (Brodie) Bond, 98, of Story City, died of heart failure Sunday at Bethany Manor in Story City. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home, with the Revs. Larry LaVelle and Sandi Anenson officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mary Isabel (Brodie) Bond was born in Maxwell, the fifth of 10 children, to William and Rose (Guge) Brodie. On Feb. 18, 1920, she married Cleo A. Bond in Marshalltown. She lived in Ames from 1955-91, and in Story City since then. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include two daughters, Phylis Barnes of Ames and LaVonne Barnes of Clinton, two sisters; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one grandson, six brothers and one sister.

Visitation is from 6 to 8:30 tonight at Adams Funeral Home.
