From Nevada Representative February 22, 1916 (page 1)

FRANK A. HALLEY

Frank Arlington Halley was born in Ohio March 2, 1849, came to Nevada as a child and died February 10, 1916, at his home 1669 New England Ave., Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Halley grew up in and about Nevada, was for many years a teacher in this county and he was after the death of his father, the companion of his mother during her remaining years.

Mr. Halley removed about 1896 to Tacoma, Washl, where he married December 19, 1905 Mrs. Geneva Oakes Coffey. In the summer of 1907 they went to Los Angeles to make their home and promptly united with Olivet Congregational church. Mr. Halley who was always faithful to his religious obligations filled various official positions in the church at Los Angeles and was a loyal and faithful Sunday School teacher. For years it was his cherished task to decorate the church for Sunday services rising very early on hot mornings to gather the fresh flowers.

Mr. Halley was in body and mind a clean man, upright, modest, unassuming. Slang or profanity, tobacco or intoxicants never passed his lips.

His health declined gradually for several years. The trial, even of blindness, caused no murmur of complaint.

Of his family, father, mother, two brothers and one sister have gone before while two sisters and one brother remain.

His pastor, Rev. John L. Maile preached a most appropriate sermon from Job 5:26. The flowers he so loved, tokens of esteem from his many friends, were heaped in profusion about him as he was laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery.
