OBITUARY

JAMES McDONALD

James McDonald died at his home in the northwest part of the city Tuesday afternoon after several years suffering with paralysis of the bowels.

Mr. McDonald was born in County Killaman, Tyrone, Ireland in October 30, 1839* and died at Nevada, Iowa, January 16, 1817 at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 16 day. He came to Nevada on July 4, 1870, had since continued to live in Nevada. He leaves his wife and two children, Thomas and Mrs. Harter of Marshalltown to mourn his death. Mr. McDonald was an industrious man, honest and upright and will be missed by a large number of friends.

His funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the M. E. church conducted by his pastor Rev. McDade. Interment was made in the Nevada cemetery.

* His head stone in the Nevada Cemetery gives his date of birth as 30 October 1838.
