Funeral Services for Mrs. Gaylord Ness at Randall Church

Roland, July 25--Funeral services for the late Mrs. Gaylord Ness, 34, of Randall, who died at the General hospital in Des Moines from complications resulting from child birth, on Thursday, were held at the Lutheran church near Randall Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Ness, former Roland woman, was well known here and many Roland people attended the funeral.

The little daughter who was born Wednesday lived only a day and was buried with the mother. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud was in charge of the services.

They were buried in the cemetery close to the church. The pall bearers were Herbert Bakka, Ed Nerem and Irwin Anderson of Roland, Andrew Knutson, Silas Tungesvig and Myron Marcus of Randall.

Cora Thompson Ness was born in Roland in March, 1905, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thompson. Her mother died when she was three years old and for a time she made her home with her grandmother and later was adopted by the Andrew Henderson family of Randall.

In July, 1922, she was married to Gaylord Ness and they have lived in and near Randall wince that time with the exception of one year which they lived in Roland.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, two daughters, Gladys and Doris and two sons Robert and Richard, her father Oscar Thompson of Los Angeles, her foster mother Mrs. Andrew Henderson and foster brother Arnold Henderson of Randall and two brothers, Rufus Thompson of Roland and Amos Thompson of Randall.

Relatives who attended the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fagerland and family, Annette Olson, Mrs. Martha Fenn, Mrs. Sam Bakka, Joe Gaard, Mrs. Cecil Rhodes, Colleen and Shirley Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bakka, Irwin Anderson Mrs. Martin Minde, Mrs. G. A. Olson, Mrs. Thor Highland, Mrs. Elmer Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nerem, Mrs. Miller Grimsley and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. John Nerem, Mr. and Mrs. Cy Bakka of Des Moines, Mrs. W. J. Amundson of Ames and Mrs. Faye Rankin of Nevada.
