Funeral Services Held Wednesday For Arthur Ubben
Funeral rites for Arthur Ubben 30, who died at a hospital in Waterloo Saturday night were held at the Morfoot Funeral home here Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 with Mrs. Barnard, Reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Ames in charge. Two songs "I Know No Life Divided" and "Shepherd Show Me How to Go" were sung by Mrs. Virginia Hozzel.
Following this service the Masonic Lodge of Williams of which he was a member took charge and the Committal service was given, after which the body was taken to Ames for burial.
Arthur Ubben, a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Ubben of 826 Third street, Nevada, was born at Ackley, Iowa, October 26, 1908, and died at a hospital in Waterloo just before midnight on Saturday a victim of pneumonia. He attended the Ackley schools as a boy but in 1915 moved with his parents to Britt and later to Williams where he graduated from the high school in 1928. He joined the Masonic lodge at Williams when 21 years of age and became Past Master in 1937.
With the exception of one year he spent in California, his life work had been in connection with the grocery business in Iowa, and at the time of his death he was connected with the Diamond Bros. Company at Waterloo.
He leaves to mourn his death in the immediate family, his parents Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Ubben, sisters Pearl and Lucille an one brother John Ubben who with his family lives at Iowa Falls. Besides these he leaves a host of friends who will regret his untimely passing.
