Funeral Services Held at Collins for Wilbur Wilkinson

Collins, Feb. 3--Funeral services for the late Wilbur Wilkinson, who passed away Sunday morning at 3:45, were held in the United Brethren church at Collins, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with the pastor Rev. L. F. Woolson in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Bradford Stevens, Mrs. A. Spivey, Emmett Weese and Bradford Steven with Mrs. R. G. Patton as accompanist.The flowers were arranged by Mrs. Ray Evans and Mrs. Milton Hale. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery with Wm. Fitzgerald, H. E. Southern, P. D. Ozmun, Jas. Johnstone, P. J. Wetrich and Ivan Mullihan acting as pallbearers.
The following is a brief sketch of the life of the deceased, Wilbur Wilkinson, 77, passed away at his home in Collins Sunday morning, Jan. 29, after an illness which had extended over several years. He was born in Elkhart county, Indiana, Oct. 16, 1861. Coming to Iowa when a young man and was here married to Miss Edna Swarts [should be Swart.] He had been a resident of this community for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his wife and one half-sister and they with a host of friends mourn his passing.
Relatives from out of town attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Morrison an Mrs. Julia Morrison of West Liberty, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Morrison of Letts, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chadwell of Newberg, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Swart of Grinnell, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. McClure of Marshalltown, Wm. Patterson of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. McClure, Mrs. Jake Viers, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Cook, George Cook an Wayne Sargent all of Maxwell.
