Charles Nichols Is Taken by Death
Charles A. Nichols, 73, of Nevada died at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the county home of old age and complications.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed this morning. The body is lying in state at the Adams funeral home in Ames.
Unmarried, Nichol is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ray Seymour [should be Roy Seymour], of Des Moines and a niece, Mrs. E. C. Child, of Ames.

Nichols Rites at Ames On Friday Afternoon
Ames, Dec. 4 -- Final rites for C. A. Nichols, 74, of Ames, who died Tuesday at the Story County home following a year's illness, will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Adams funeral home here. The Rev. Hal Rigg, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church, will officiate at the services beginning at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Ames municipal cemetery.
Nichols was born in Ames April 21, 1873. For some time he ran a livery stable here with his brother, George. He was not married.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Frances Geyer, Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Kate Seymour, Des Moines and Mrs. Della Neal, Ames.
