Sam S. Askelson Dies at Story City; Funeral on Friday

Story City, Nov. 25 -- Sam S. Askelson, 67, lifelong resident of the Gilbert community before moving to Story City a year ago last June, died suddenly at his home here last night of heart attack. Death came at 11:15 p. m.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon 1:15 services at the home in Story City preceding 2 o'clock rites at Gilbert Lutheran church. The Rev. T. T. Heimarck will officiate. Burial will be in Gilbert Lutheran cemetery.

Askelson was born on a farm near Gilbert and lived his entire life in that vicinity until moving with his wife, the former Laura Ostrem, to Story City over a year ago.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Ed G. (Olive) Peterson, Story City; Mrs. Ed (Almira) Dodds, Ames and Mrs. R. A. (Eunice) Beane, Everly; one foster-son, LaVern Ostrem, Sac City; six grandchild; one sister Mrs. T. L. Olson, Story City, and two brothrs Albert and Oscar, Story City.
