Funeral Services For Mrs. Anna Dolan Wednesday Morning
Colo, Oct. 15--Mrs. Anna Dolan former Colo resident, passed away at the home of her daughter Sarah Martin October 6, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Dolan had been very ill for a long time and bedfast for the last four years.
The Requiem High Mass was solemnized by the Rev. J. D. Mahoney in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colo, Iowa, on Wednesday morning October 8. Interment was in St. James Cemetery by the side of her husband, who passed away several years ago.
Mrs. Roger Hopkins sang the Requiem Mass, Panis Angelicus and Ave Maria, Mrs. Frances O'Donnell organist.
Pallbearers were nephews and grand nephews of the deceased M. R. McCoy, R. F. O'Donnell, John O'Donnell, Richard O'Donnell, James O'Donnell and Dr. F. C. O'Donnell.
Anna O'Donnell, daughter of Martin and Mary O'Donnell was born in San Francisco, Calif., Sept. 28, 1868. On completion of the Union Pacific railroad, she, while still a small child with her family returned to Iowa settling at Colo. All of her life with the exception of the last few years was spent here.
In 1899 she was married to Thomas W. Dolan. To this union one daughter Sarah, now Mrs. Leo Martin was born, with whom she made her home since the daughters marriage. The daughter and four grand children Tommy, Walter, Musa and Paul survive. Her mother and father, two brothers James and Martin O'Donnell and one sister, Mrs. Sarah McCoy, preceded her in death.
Friends and relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were, Dr. and Mrs. Georg Decker, Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Anna Selzman, aunt of Mr. Martin, Pierre, S. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sarcone, Mrs. Margaret Tyler, Mrs. Joe Tyler, Des Moines; Dr. and Mrs. F. C. O'Donnell, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. James O'Donnell, Williams, Mrs. Robert Slater, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Fleshman, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Bullock, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jacols, Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Wilkening, Collins; Ray Connolly, Mrs. Clarence Stark, Mrs. C. P. Stark, and Miss Nellie White, Nevada.
