DEATH OF AGED LADY.

Mrs. Rogers Passed Away at Home of son, Jesse Randall.

Mrs. Caroline Randall-Rodgers, an aged resident of the city, passed away Saturday forenoon at the home of her son, Jesse A. Randall, after a lingering illness of many years. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from the Friend's church, Dr. D. J. Bunce of Des Moines, who had long had an interest in the old lady's welfare, conducting the services.

The deceased whose maiden name was Caroline M. Slosson, was born at Chazy, N. Y., Aug. 1, 1826, and died Aug. 13, 1910, aged 84 years and 13 days. Later she removed to Franklin county, Vermont, where on March 14, 1849, she was united in marriage to John N. Randall. To this union six children were born, they being Emma, Jane, Lucinda Ellen, Julia Ellen, John W. and Jesse A. Of this number but the last two survive the parent, John W. living at Collins, and Jesse A. in this city. After the husband and four children had passed away she was united in marriage again, this time in 1877 to John W. Rogers.

For the past many years she had been in frail health, in fact an invalid and had been taken care of by her sons. Of later years she had lived in this city and had been cared for by her younger son, who makes his home here.

She was converted early in life and united with the Baptist church, but in later years joined the Friends church in the city, continuing in its fellowship until her death. The last years of her life had been attended with much suffering, but she bore her affliction patiently and died as she had lived, strong in the faith of God. She was a decidedly home woman and her duties there were always first in her attentions. The two sons and their families will receive the sympathy of all in the hours of affliction.
