Mrs. Oren Lake Dies at Hospital At Story City

STORY CITY--Mrs. Oren (Edna) Lake, 87, died at 1:00 a. m. today at the Story City Hospital, suddenly of a heart attack. She was born in Paw Paw, Ill., moved to Gilbert with her parents in 1876. She was married in Gilbert and lived there until her husband retired as a Rural Mail carrier. They then moved to Missouri where they lived for eight years. Since that time they made their home in Story City.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p. m. from the Grace E.U.B. Church in Story City with the Rev. C. R. Ziettlow officiating. Burial will be in the Gilbert cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Larson Funeral Home until Tuesday noon.

Mrs. Lake was preceded in death by her husband in January 1955.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stella Ahrens, Story City and Mrs. Harley Doolittle, Pequot Lake, Minn.; four sons, Albert, Anamosa, Galen and Russell, Ames, Herbert, Whittier, Calif., and Willard, Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one brother of Kellerton, Iowa.
