OBITUARY

George W. Hall, whose burial took place in the Nevada cemetery last Saturday, was a native of New York state and born at Burke, April 2, 1838. He remained in the east until 1867, engaged mainly in railroad work, when he came to Mendota, Illinois Following his marriage there to Miss Edna Walsworth, he and his wife came to Nevada in 1869. Here they resided and reared their family of two daughters and one son who died in his youth. The daughters followed the example of their mother and devoted their young womanhood to school teaching. In this calling they have done most excellent work, both have taught successfully for several years in the Nevada schools. One daughter, Bessie, became Mrs. F. N. Foote. Mr. and Mrs. Foote located at Winnebago, Minn., with whom Mr. Hall made his home, soon after the death of Mrs. Hall in 1913, until his own death, Feb. 4, 1920. The other daughter, Miss Ethel, is still teaching and holds a desirable position in the schools of Mason City. They are both graduates of the Nevada high school and in their work and lives have honored their Alma-Mater and the city in which they were reared. Mr. Hall's employment during his near half century of residence in Nevada was traveling agent for the Western Wheel-Scraper Co., in which agency he was quite successful. He traveled widely and saw much of this wonderful country of ours. He was well informed and an agreeable man to meet.

He and the members of his household will be long and kindly remembered by their old time friends and acquaintances in Nevada and through the county. Both daughters accompanied the remains of their father to their last resting place here beside kindred dust. While here they enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest French of Grant township and of Mr. and Mrs. George C. White of this city.
