Joseph (Joe) Roche Funeral Services Held In Zearing
Funeral services for Joseph (Joe) Roche were held Thursday July 26, 1962 in the St. Gabriels Church in Zearing. Rev. Cecil McSweeney officiated.
Casket bearers were Ambrose Blayney, Ash Oaks, Dean Williams, Dale Cook, Floyd Steelman and Lloyd Steelman.
Honorary: Vern Whitaker, Steve Chance, Charles Morrell, Art Couser, Otis Steelman, Harry Wolford and Sam Oaks.
St. Gabriels Church Choir furnished the music. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Eldon Crain and Mrs. Lloyd Steelman.
Cars were furnished by K. L. Cerka, I. S. Madison, Virgil Chance, Floyd Steelman and Lloyd Steelman.
Life Sketch
Roche was born in France December 9, 1889 and came to this country with his parents at the age of four and one half years. He had lived on the same farm northeast of Zearing for 44 years. His wife, Mary preceded him in death in 1934.
Surviving are two sons, James and Francis at home and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Gilson of Des Moines and one grandchild, Harold Gilson. Also three sisters, Mrs. Rose Carmody of Nevada, Mrs. Mary Curley of Marshalltown and Mrs. Lucille Weuve of St. Anthony; two brothers, Frank and John of Colo.
