SUDDEN DEATH OF COLO WOMAN

MRS. JOHN NILAND DIED WHILTE SHOPPING IN DES MOINES STORE

Special to the Journal.
Colo, Jan. 10--Mrs. John Niland, 60, well known Colo woman, died very suddenly, while in a Des Moines department store doing some shopping with her husband and a sister, Mrs. Fannie French of Des Moines, about 3:00 Friday afternoon.

Taken suddenly ill, she collapsed and while she was hastened to Mercy hospital, it is thought that she was dead when she was taken from the store.

The body was brought to the Morfoot Funeral home in Nevada last night, where it was cared for, after which it was taken to the home of Mrs. Anna Niland of Colo, where it will repose until time for the funeral.

The funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Colo, Monday morning at 9:30, after which interment will be in the St. James Catholic cemetery at Colo.

Mrs. Niland, whose maiden name was Edith Reeve, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Reeve, longtime residents of the Colo neighborhood and was 60 years of age August 29 last.

She was married to John Niland, January 9, 1896 and they were in Des Moines celebrating the thirty-fifth anniversary of their marriage, with her sister Mrs. French, that being the occasion of their going to the city.

She leaves besides her husband the one sister Mrs. Fannie French of Des Moines and two brothers, James Reeve of Fairfield and Harry Reeve of Sumner.

Mrs. Niland was a woman of fine character and exceptional talent in many ways and was loved and admired by a wide circle of friends and neighbors in and around Colo, where she had lived many years of her life.
