Mrs. Peterson With Body of Husband Arrived Here Today

The body of John K. Peterson Jr., 36, who met his tragic death in a grade crossing accident near his home at Sand Point, Idaho, early Saturday, arrived here this morning over the Rock Island.

The body was accompanied by Mrs. Peterson and the three children.

Further particulars regarding the fatal accident reveal that Mr. Peterson was engaged in moving and had a load of wood on his truck when his engine stalled on the crossing. The crossing was a semi-blind one and because of the sleet and icy condition, he failed to see the oncoming train in time to escape. Two boys who were with him jumped to safety.

Funeral services will be held at the Drybread home 335 I avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 with a brother-in-law, Rev. E. A. Piper of Webster City in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

John K. Peterson Jr. was born at the Peterson farm home northwest of Nevada, November 7, 1896 and he met his tragic death Saturday morning, October 8, 1932 at Sandpoint, Idaho. Death was the result of a railroad accident. He was the third son in a family of four boys and 5 girls. He would have been 36 years of age in another month.

As a boy he was baptized in the Lutheran faith and later confirmed in the Memorial Lutheran Church of Nevada. He attended the local public schools and as a young man chose farming as his life work.

On Sept. 17, 1919 he was united in marriage to Miss Helen Drybread at Nevada. Five children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. For several years they were engaged in farming near Nevada and three years ago last spring they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where they have since made their home.
