ARTHUR GANDRUP DEAD AT STORY
SON OF PIONEER DRUGGIST DIED FOLLOWING OPERATION AT HOSPITAL
Speciail to the Journal.
Story City, Feb. 29--Arthur Gandrup, 57, died at Story City hospital early today after an operation on Wednesday. Mr. Gandrup had been an invalid for several years and had taken treatments at various places.The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. Heimarck in charge and interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Gandrup, son of a pioneer druggist of Story City, was born in Chicago fifty-seven years ago on March 16. The family came out to Story City and had lived here for many years, the father and later the sons conducting a drug store here. The deceased first engaged in the drug business at Clemons, but about sixteen years ago returned to Story City and took charge of the old Gandrup store here.
He leaves his wife, one son Burton Gandrup and a sister Amelia Bandrup. Three brothers and one sister have preceded him in death.
He was one of the well-known and very popular business men of Story City.
