FLOYD FRANK UNWIN
Floyd Frank Unwin, 91, of 402 S. 5th St., Nevada IA, died Monday, March 17, 1986 at North Grand Care Center, Ames IA.
Death was due to cancer.
Mr. Unwin was born July 8, 1895, at Brooklyn IL to William and Normanda Almeda Merritt Unwin.
Mr. Unwin lived in Nevada most of his life. He had been a janitor at North Grand School in Ames.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He served in the Army in World War I and was decorated twice.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada, with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Interment will be in Story Memorial Gardens south of Ames.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Nevada.
Survivors include two brothers, William Unwin of DeKalb IL and George Unwin of Aurora IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith in 1982, and by two brothers, Paul and John, and a sister, Bertha.
Songs to be used at the funeral include "In the Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer."
