JAMES HALE PASSES AWAY

DEATH CAME AFTER SEVERAL MONTH'S ILLNESS

James Hale, a former resident of Ames, passed away at his home in Fort Dodge last Monday after an illness that extended over a period of several months. Death was due to complications that resulted from old age. Mr. Hale was eighty nine years old.
James Hale was born in Gloucestershire, England, October 30, 1828. In 1866 with his family he moved to this country, settling in Des Moines. They resided there for several years, when they moved to Ames. This spring he and his daughter moved to Fort Dodge to make their home.
Eight children are living. They are Miss Miriam Hale, Mrs. A. C. Heath, Roy Hale and J. I. Hale of Fort Dodge, J.T. Hale of Iowa Falls, W.S. Hale of New York City and Anthony and Aaron Hale of Rhodes, Iowa. Mrs. Hale preceded her husband in death two years ago.
The funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the home.
