Masters' Funeral Tuesday Afternoon

Maxwell, Oct. 18--The funeral for Mrs. William E. Masters was held in the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Frank Bean of Boone had charge of the services he was assisted by the local pastor Rev. W. M. Scheuermann.

A double quartette consisted of Mrs. Chas. Dearman, Mrs. D. L. Ray, Mrs. C. I. Kirk, Mrs. Emmett Gibson, M. H. Troup, Harry Faskler furnished the music. Mrs. Gurton Nelson was at the piano. The songs were: The Old Rugged Cross, In the Garden, and Safe in the Arms of Jesus.

The pallbearers were: Harley Minear, O. F. Strombeck, C. B. French, M. Warner, A. E. Harris and Albert Green.

Margaret Titt [should be Pritt] was born in West Virginia, December 24, 1853 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Allen of Des Moines, October 14, 1933 at the age of 79 years. She was united in marriage to William E. Masters, July 26, 1877 and to this union eleven children were born. The children are: Mrs. Florence LeMar, Decatur, Illinois, Mrs. Lilly McMackin, Casina Park, Ill., Mrs. Carrie Snyder, Bellevue, Mrs. Mary Allen, Des Moines, Joe Masters, Sterling, Colo., Dan Masters, Des Moines, Mrs. Pansy Hynd, Huxley. Two daughters Sarah Elizabeth and Ruby McConnell, preceded their mother in death. Mr. Masters also died in 1917. Since that time Mrs. Masters made her home with her children.
