ELLIOTT FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON

GIRL WHO GAVE LIFE WHILE IN CARE OF LIFE OF OTHERS

Cambridge, July 22 -- Funeral services for Emeline Elliott, 22, White Oak girl who died in Des Moines were held this afternoon at the church at White Oak, after which interment was in the White Oak Cemetery.

Miss Elliott died after a brief illness from a brain affliction caused by overwork and care in her nursing duties.

She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Elliott, born in Cambridge 22 years ago. The mother died late in May and was buried on Memorial Day.

She leaves her father, a sister Mrs. Leola Albaugh of Ankeny, sisters Marjory and Dora Sarah at home and a brother James at home.

After graduating from the Elkhart schools she entered nurses training at the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, where she finished a few months ago and has since been employed there. She was devoted in the care of her mother during her last days.

The deceased was a granddaughter of the late Gid J. Wire, Civil War veteran of Cambridge, and was of one of the oldest and most respected families in the community.
