THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 30, 1949, page 1, column 5. "MR. AND MRS. E. H. WHITNEY PASS AWAY. - Word has been received of the death of Mrs. E. H. Whitney of Pasadena, Cal., Sunday evening, June 19 and just 10 days later on June 30 Mr. Whitney passed away. Mrs. Whitney was a sister of L. R. Shepherd and Mrs. Edith Mingle and Mr. Whitney was a brother of Mrs. Harding Witmer."
