THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, June 24, 2005.

Robert Allan Tarbill, 54, of Radcliffe, died Thursday, June 23, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Robert Allan Tarbill was born Aug. 1, 1950, in Cherokee, the son of Cecil and Velma (Marlatt) Tarbill. He grew up in Cherokee, graduating from Cherokee High School in 1969. He served two tours with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was shop foreman at C&K Heating and Cooling in Ames. He belonged to the Roland American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Joe Tarbill and Kate of Story City and Justin Tarbill and Meagan of Ankeny; one daughter, Julie Tarbill of Gilbert; two granddaughters, Adrienne and Emma; and one sister, Bertha Stille and her husband, Mike, of Roland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Darwin.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
