PIONEER IOWAN DIED AT COLLINS
MRS. SNEDDON PASSED AWAY AT HOME OF DAUGHTER, MRS. ROBINSON

Collins, May 1--Mrs. Carrie K. Sneddon, 78, native of Iowa, passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Earl Robinson, southeast of Collins Tuesday evening at 5:30.While definite funeral arrangements await word from relatives at a distance, it is expected that there will be a short service at the home Friday afternoon at 1:00, followed by a service later at Colfax Methodist church. She will be buried at Colfax by the side of her husband, David Sneddon, who died there 18 years ago.
She was born Carrie K. Chew, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. James A. Chew, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, April 8, 1857. There she grew to womanhood and was married to David Sneddon in 1874.
Eight children were born to this union, three of whom died in infancy and the husband passed away 18 years ago.
Surviving children are Mrs. Catherine Meier of Hartford, Arkansas, Clyde L. Sneddon of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Daisy Walker of Donaldsonville, La., Mrs. Grace Cubit of Colfax and Mrs. Grace Robinson of near Collins.
Besides these there are nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She also leaves four brothers; Randall Chew of Los Angeles, Rev. Will Chew of Corning, Calif., L. A. Chew of Illinois and S. G. Chew of Minnesota.
Following up their marriage the family home was in Oskaloosa for a time, then to What Cheer, later to Milwaukee, next in Michigan and finally back to Iowa, settling at Colfax, where the husband died.
Mrs. Sneddon made her home with the daughter Mrs. Robinson much of the time following the death of the husband.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church all of her life and was a faithful worker in the church and Sunday school and other activities during the years that her health permitted.
Death followed a lingering illness of various complications.
