THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 20, 1894, page 5, column 2. "Harvey Wells who has been stopping with his relatives in this community died at the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Kulow, Tuesday, December 18th, of stomach trouble. The funeral will be held at Peoria today at 11 a. m."
THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 20, 1894, page 8, column 2. "Mr. H. Wells still remains quite poorly. He is at Mrs. Kulow's, his sister-in-law's. There is no hope for his recovery. His disease is of the stomach and medical aid has failed to reach it. Though the best has been secured that we have. Later Mr. Wells died Tuesday."
