Ernest Holm Laid to Rest at Roland

Special to the Journal.
Roland, July 25--Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Holm was shocked by the sudden departure of their loving son Ernest.

He was born February 11, 1924, on a farm northeast of Roland, was taken suddenly sick with tonsilitis on Wednesday, July 11 ad passed away at hi home in Marshalltown at an early hour Saturday morning at the age of 10 years and 5 months.

He leaves his sorrowing father and mother, three sisters and three brothers, they are Mrs. Charlotte Wheeler, Sylvester, Jesse, Nina, Levern and Cecil, all of Marshalltown. Three sisters and one brother have preceded him in death. They are there to meet little Ernest in his new heavenly home. He also leaves a grandfather, Abel Twedt, aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home in Marshalltown on Monday morning, July 16, from there to the Bergen Lutheran church in Roland at 11 o'clock. Burial was made in the Roland cemetery beside those which have preceded him.

Rev. H. N. Bakke of McCallsburg officiating. Miss Calo rendered a solo entitled "Sweet Bye and Bye".

There were many beautiful floral offering from relatives and friends also some money given to the mission in his memory.

Pall bearers were four of his cousins, Harold Holm, Jerral Lenning, Burton Anderson and Jennings Knutson, also two of his friends, Francis Thomspon and Bud Whitman.

Genevieve Gjerde and Lucille Anderson, cousins of the deceased, carried a beautiful basket of flowers.
