Mary Etta Rinehart, daughter of Simon P. and Elizabeth Rinehart, was born in the Dalton neighborhood, August 7, 1877 and died at her home in Colo, Iowa, May 10, 1934 at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Roy Francis Carver, August 29, 1900, and they made their home at Colo most of their married life. They lived in Jewell and Stanhope for a few years in the early part of their married life.

To this union were born two children, Zola Zoo and LeRoy Vance, the latter died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, one daughter Zola of Colo, three sisters, Mrs. E. D. Schoonover and Mrs. C. F. Fleming of Colo, Mrs. A. F. Coughenour of Maxwell and one brother Sherman D. Rinehart of Colo. Besides these there are many friends and other relatives.

She was a member of the Isabel Chapter 271 of the O. E. S. Lodge of Colo. She was a charter member of the B. F. T. club of the Colo community. As a young girl she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and united with the Dalton United Brethren church. Later she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church of Colo to which she remained faithful to the end.

Mrs. Carver was a woman very much interested in her home and the interests that centered there. Her love for the beautiful is revealed in her interest in music and in flowers. To these she devoted much of her leisure time.

Her religious faith brought to her much comfort and strength during her last weeks of illness and suffering. Christ was a very present help in time of her greatest need.
