Holland Funeral Held at Maxwell

Maxwell, April 24--Funeral services for Mildred Holland were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Presbyterian church Rev. Rev. Guthrie of Maxwell and Rev. Pickford of Nevada in charge. The songs, "Some time We'll Understand," "Abide With Me," and "Good Night" were sung by a quartette composed of Vivian Llewellyn, Mrs. M. E. Smith, Earl Bowen and Clark John with Mrs. G. W. Olinger at the piano. Pall bearers were: Ralph Moore, Robert Garlock, Dale John, Paul Olinger, Edwin Olinger and George Olinger. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery.

Mildred was born on a farm near Maxwell, March 26, 1912, and passed away in Washington, D. C., April 15, 1934. She graduated from the Maxwell high school in 1928 and then attended business college at the American Institute of Business, Des Moines. On Nov. 17, 1930, she left for Washington, D. C., and had been employed by the government since that time. She leaves to mourn her departure her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Holland, two sisters, Anna of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Kenneth Frederickson of Sidney, Iowa and one brother Edward of Washington, D. C., a host of friends and relatives.

Friends and relatives from a distance attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Stillman of Algona, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Smith of Colfax, Miss Myrtle Wickard and Mr. and Mr. Dwight Wickard of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Don Ellis of Seymour, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Acheson and daughters Melba and Eleanor and Mrs. A. Skogsborg of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holland, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Holland and Marie Holland of Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schoville of Montezuma, Mrs. Reed and family of New Providence.
