Hold Final Rites For Kerner Samuel Malmin

Funeral services for Kerner Samuel Malmin, son of Cpl. and Mrs. Selmer Malmin of Fort Riley, Kans., were held at the Riis Funeral home in Slater on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.

Rev. Lewis Malmin of Des Moines opened the service with prayer and sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Rev. H. N. Bakke of McCallsburg gave a short talk and Rev. Malmin gave a short talk and sang "Sunrise." Mrs. Phil Rood played the accompaniments. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket.

The infant was born on June 23rd at the army hospital in Fort Riley and died the same day. He is survived by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Malmin of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. W. Y. Kinyon of Nevada and Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Guess of Lake City, also a number of other relatives.

Interment was made in the Slater cemetery.
